Segment 1 - Career Readiness
Certificate - Student reporter Rebekah Sharpe, from the University of Michigan, interviews Keenan Wade from DELEG’s Bureau of Workforce Transformation, and Patricia Cantu from the Michigan Department of Education. Keenan and Patricia explain the three assessment tests and the core skills needed to receive a Career Readiness Certificate.
Segment 2 - Michigan State Fair/4-H – Next, Rebekah visits the 2008 Michigan State Fair and talks to Tom Coon from Michigan State University about the 4-H program, and Lisa Webb-Sharpe, Director of the Michigan Department of Management and Budget, about the important role that teen volunteers play in the fair.
Segment 3 - Auto Mechanics – Finally, Rebekah visits the Michigan Institute of Technology in Lapeer and talks with staff, current students and graduates about the hands-on occupation of Auto Mechanics.
Career Maps - Ben Dorsch from L’Anse Creuse High School discusses the qualities and skills it takes to become a Video Game Designer.
